Hi. My son, who is a student studying computer science and web application development has recently developed an app for Litecart. He wishes to add the app to the Litecart Add-ons store and hopefully generate sales to help fund his further education.

We understand the procedure of packaging the add on, but we are unclear how and when the author receives payment if someone purchases the add on.  My apologies if we have missed something in the docs that addresses this subject.

Hi. Revenue from addon sales are paid out by sending us an invoice. If the payee is not registered as a business they have to make certain that individuals raising income from freelance work is in order with the national laws, and provide a reference for the claim. They also need to make sure that the payer is not the one obligated to pay employee tax or other governmental fee conserning the work. If an individual is not allowed to raise income without a business registration there are freelancer organizations that can assist with this part.

Add-ons doesn't finance a living, but they can help gain some recognition. Leading to incoming inquiries for assisting others with development.
