Removal of the empty manufacturer line in the category pages.

I do not require any manufaturer information in our store and therefore none is indicated with the products. Thus, no manufacturer is displayed when viewing a category page.
But unfortunately there is a blank line everywhere in the place.
How can I get rid of this blank line, as I hope it will make my pages a bit more compact (or less space wasting)?
