What is the benefit of the template settings?

When moving to : Dashboard > Appearance > Template > Template Settings

I cannot understand this part shown in the image and I did not see any change with activation or deactivation.
And disabling "Sidebar Parallax Effect" returns to the activation mode automatically.
Is it possible to explain the matter in a simple and understandable way.

Template settings is a way of assigning settings related to the specific template only.

Even with the demo I don't see any changes when enabling or disabling any option so I still don't understand the main purpose of it.

Yeah for a compact category tree you need more than the demo categories.

Parallax effect seems to be broken. I will have to investigate it more. Got a a lot to do right now so it's not my first priority.
