Only one payment addon works with the current version

Having battled with problems with the Square addon with no Joy, I took a look at the other payment add-ons and other than sum-up there are no payment add-ons that will work with the latest version even the Paypal one which is the one that is most recently updated.

I am struggling to see the relevance of an e-commerce store that you can't accept payments through other than the built-in module to pay cash on collection.

I am disappointed that I have put so much time into, setting this thing up, adding products and getting so close to being able to launch, A valuable lesson learnt is that when installing the next cart check that it can accept payments before going all in. 

Maybe I have no right to be disappointed it is after all free software, software that you have done an incredible job of putting together other than a working payment solution.

I installed it through Softalicious and had no options to select an earlier version though I would have had no idea that it wouldn't have a payment processor option anyway.

I'm off to find a different solution and try again.

I can understand some of the difficulties you are experiencing, but I still condemn you for making such a judgment before looking for any flaws in yourself. As an always up-to-date litecart user, your statement that the latest version does not support payment methods is absolutely wrong. The first thing you should check before installing the software is not whether it supports payment methods, but the system requirements needs. How can an e-commerce software not take payments? Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it?

If you choose a payment plugin with alternatives, go with the one the developer recommends. Many factors such as your server configuration, php version, database version can cause errors. Follow the developer's recommendations and configure your configuration that way.

Are you getting errors while using and cannot solve them? Check the printed log file and try to find the error source. If not, come and ask for help on the forum.

I take what you are saying is that the platform is only for developers and not users. I can do so much in terms of uploading add-ons to the site but I'm not a coder, if you need to be able to code then the platform isn't for general use.

My comment was more about checking all of the add-ons and not one of them is listed as working with version 2.5.5 whether it is a paid-for addon or free.

The problem is not that my configuration is wrong it's that the base code has been updated and none of the payment plugins now work with it.

No, it's not only for developers. I didn't say that your configuration was faulty, I said that if there is something wrong in the background, it can create errors. free publicly available plugins don't offer a guarantee. if you have a paid plugin that doesn't work, you should contact the developer. free plugins can be incompatible with new versions when they don't continue to be developed.
I mean, your idea that the latest version of litecart doesn't support payment methods is wrong. It is to browse the payment method plugins you can use in the marketplace, check which versions it supports, if there is one that suits you, and buy the plugin.
If you have a special payment method request, create a request on the forum, willing to pay some amount. There are many developers here who are willing to do this.

So you missed my original point, I would quite happily purchase a payment plugin however none of them other than the Sum-Up one are compatible with the latest version, not one, even the Paypal plugin which is the one with the latest update is not listed as being compatible so the statement that none work with the latest version in fairness at this current time is true.

If it wasn't working you would see dozens of feedbacks about it. it's development and money back guaranteed. by the way, just because it doesn't get new updates for version 2.5.5 doesn't mean it doesn't support it. It means it is not needed. You can always trust Tim's plugins. This sentence is also guaranteed :)

OK thank you for that, It does not state that it works with 2.5.5 but it does state that it's compatible with all other versions then I took it at its word that it would not work at the moment.

I will download it now and try it.
