Is my login compromised?

good day and HNY 2018 litecart forum

question
why whenever i use the reset tool for admin or new user, and reset a password on my localhost
when i try to login to admin on my REMOTE LIVE HOST SERVER
it says WARNING YOUR LOG IN INFO MAY BE COMPRISED AND USED BY SOME OTHER COMPUTER
and then the mesage goes away and does not apper on subsequebt log ins

lucio

You receive this warning because your hostname or ip address is different from the last time you logged in. Pay attention to the text in the warning. It reveals what the other hostname was.

If you are using the remote database for your local installation you are asking for trouble.

hello litecart support
thank you for the reply
yes i did taake not of the warning message
as far as i know my hostanme and ip address did NOT chnge since the last time i logged in

also i use the local DB for the localhost
and i use the live host DB for the live site
there is no co relation at all

so i still dont get the warning message
which occurs when i reset the password for admin on the localhost
regards

tim

You can use geoiptool.com to see origins of the previous hostname. You can also look at the database table lc_users what it says before and after your password reset for that user.

hey litecart forum
just checking in on this thread since last month
thank you for the tip
i will check this out
