Could not get carousel to work

We installed the carousel and could not get it to work.

Thanks Jack, I did that, We are getting a 406 error when we go to enable it. Then we turned off mod security and we still have the 406 error.

We got the 406 error to go away and uploaded the mod and modified the files, but we cannot find where we add photos to the carousel.

Are there install instructions for this?

Do you have an error in the vmod?
In the admin sidecolumn, there is: VM Carousel. That is the place where you can upload images to the mini-slider

It shows the mod and "ok", but nowhere to upload the photos. I must have made a mistake installing it.

This is the bottom section of the admin panel

Did you upload also everything inside the "admin" folder? Inside is a folder: "vm_carousel.app" which should be uploaded inside the admin folder. Then you can see VM Carousel in the admin sidecolumn

yes, there is an "admin" folder, then inside of that is a folder called vm_carousel.app and that folder has 4 files in it.

I had to create the admin folder.

nope, We did create a theme based off of the default theme and we named that folder white.catalog , does that make a difference. This is the theme we are using.

Here is what we did to install this mod. Note: the theme we are using is white.catalig.

  1. Downloaded and extracted the mod
  2. Uploaded all if the files and folders to the home directory.
2a. Per the read me, that should be all there is to installing the mod, but it didn't work for us.
  3. We added the code to the default index and the index file as described in the mod in the admin panel. Still no luck seeing the mod in the admin panel in order to upload photos to it, but the section for the carousel does show up on the homepage.  Strange......

What should the "default. Index " look like with the code added?

the problem is that you do not see VM Carousel in the admin sidecolumn.
In your webroot, there is (already present) a folder named admin. In that folder, you should put the folder vm_carousel.app (admin/vm_arousel.app in plugin).
Then you should see the VM Carousel in your admin sidecolumn...

We run multiple websites on one server, so we installed litecart into its own folder for the website that it goes to. After litecart was installed (as a selectable software package from the hosting company we use), we tried to install the mod. In this case the main directory is a folder, could that be the issue? There was no "admin" folder when the host installed litecart.

We fixed it/ Of course it was a simple mistake. Our "admin" folder was not called "admin". Once we put it in the correct folder, it works. Thanks for the mod. Is there a way to add a link to each image so people can click it and go to the link?

Hey Jack,

A sincere thank you for the help with the mod. We are new to litecart, but it seems like good software. I hope they keep making improvements.

Dan

I can create a link on the images. I am going to work on it....

Excellent, i'm looking forward to checking it out. :-)

Hey Jack,

I just tried to install it and it says "failed" in the admin Vmods section.

It says "failed" in the admin panel, but the mod works on our current theme.

Hey Jack,
Check out our test site at boatnurd.com the carousel works with the links even though the install says "failed" in the admin panel. Is there a way to resize or "line up" the images in the carousel so they all look even? it looks like some are at the top of the carousel and some at the bottom of the carousel and the images are all different sizes.

We cropped and resized our images, so it's good. The strange thing is that the linking works on the test site, but not the live site.

What url has the live site? I can look into source...maybe i can help

Hey Jack,

I installed the latest update and the carousel looks and works great excepts the links. I think I am formatting the lint wrong. If I want to link to this page (Below)

Do I use "edibles-c-1/beverages-c-6/ " as the link?
