Hi,

I would like to know how (if) LiteCart plan to implement 2 regulations that have come into force for all distance selling (online sales) and represent quite a lot of information on newly listed products.

  1. General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR)
  2. Radio Equipment Regulation – Amendments to the Regulation

General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR): https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/SL/TXT/?uri=CELEX:32023R0988

This regulation only applies to new products added on all webstores after 13.12.2024.

Products physically contain safety or warning information on the packaging and/or documents that are added to the product in the packaging - depending on the item.
Products sold in stores must already be equipped with this information, now also online, i.e. in digital form.

Manufacturer info
Name - Manufacturer Product Safety
Postal Code - Manufacturer Pr Safety
Country - Manufacturer Product Safety
Email - Manufacturer Product Safety

Responsible person / company
Name - Responsible Person EU Product Safety
Postal Code - Responsible Person EU Product Safety
Country - Responsible Person EU Product Safety
Email - Responsible Person EU Product Safety

If the manufacturer is located in the EU, then the responsible person is the same manufacturer (enter the same data).
If the manufacturer is outside the EU, the responsible person is a natural person or a person who has the authority to do so in the EU

Warnings or safety information
Safety Info Picture

Must be in local language. You can take pictures of packaging with information such as: various safety or warning information, pictograms, EU mandatory signs (more about this:https://europa.eu/youreurope/business/product-requirements/labels-markings/index_en.htm), data sheet or product information sheet (especially for white goods), etc.

  1. Radio Equipment Regulations – Amendments to the Regulations (in force from 28.12.2024)
Here too, nothing needs to be added or changed retrospectively. It only applies to newly added products (can be done with attributes).

For GPSR there need to be field on product page, where customer can click on it and open popup with info, which you can add on product edit page in admin with this info:

Postal Code - Manufacturer Pr Safety
Country - Manufacturer Product Safety
Email - Manufacturer Product Safety

I am not certain where do draw the line what is part of an e-commerce platform's responsibility and what is a merchant's part. Do we know today if and how other platforms has made any changes for merchants to be able to easier conform to these new regulations? Mainly I'm thinking this is information you would put in a PDF attached to the product page, but I'm open to hear ideas.

Yes, I'm also waiting for others sellers how will implement this, but from 13.12.2024 this must have all for all new products.

As I understand it can't be in pdf, but in different box, like on image in attachmed.

That confused me. How is batch editing multiple products related to the GPSR regulation?

Do we need new properties for products? Which ones?

Usually every brand is one manufacturer, so best way to add this data is by brand.

Yes, we need new product properties:

Please check pdf to get some idea...
